They may try to steer you to an auto body company on their list. These companies are on their list because they provide discounts, free towing, free storage, etc to the insurance companies. Not because they are the best at what they do. We may not be on their list because we won't compromise the quality of our repair.

The insurance company may request several estimates and then they approve the lowest estimate. BY LAW YOU ARE NOT RQUIRED TO GET MORE THAN ONE ESTIMATE. Any shop can write a lower estimate by leaving off items that should be included. The lowest estimate is not often the best.
